About The Hotel Nap Club
Hi, I’m Julia.
I started The Hotel Nap Club after realizing that most travel advice seems to assume you have unlimited energy, a perfectly regulated nervous system, and the desire to wake up at 4:30 AM for a sunrise hike after an eight-hour drive.
I am not that person.
I love road trips, national parks, scenic overlooks, cozy hotels, and the feeling of discovering a new place for the first time. I also love afternoon naps, hydration packets, sitting quietly after too much stimulation, and itineraries with enough breathing room to actually enjoy the trip.
For a long time, I planned vacations for my fantasy self instead of my actual self. You know the version of yourself who magically loves waking up early, never gets overwhelmed, and somehow treats every vacation like an Olympic endurance event.
Unfortunately, we still have to bring our real brains and bodies with us when we travel.
This blog is for people who want meaningful adventures without completely obliterating themselves in the process. Here you’ll find:
- realistic travel planning
- road trip reflections
- national park adventures
- nervous-system-friendly travel tips
- honest conversations about burnout, rest, and overstimulation
- and occasional cautionary tales involving overly ambitious itineraries
I believe travel doesn’t have to be optimized to be worthwhile. Sometimes the best part of a trip is the slow morning, the unexpected roadside diner, or the decision to skip one more attraction and go back to the hotel instead.
Thanks for being here. Grab a snack, drink some water, and maybe schedule a buffer day.
Welcome to the club.
